Meeting of 14 July, 14:00 – 14:50

Draft

Facts

The client was given notice with effect from the end of September, after eleven years with the company. The termination came two weeks after she had raised unpaid overtime with the executive board.

Legal assessment

Indications of a wrongful termination under Art. 336 OR. The objection must be raised in writing and before the notice period expires; the evidence on the overtime is still open.

Client's instructions

The client wants compensation, not continued employment. No contact with the opposing party without checking with her first.

Next steps

  • Draft the objection to the termination · Lead lawyer · by 25 July
  • Request the employment contract and time records · Secretariat · by 22 July
  • Report back to the client once the deadline has come in · Lead lawyer · week 31

The difference

The same client meeting. Two completely different evenings.

The file note either comes out of the meeting itself — or days later from keywords and memory.

Before

The meeting ends. The work on the file begins.

Notes during the conversation Eyes on the notepad

Writing the file note squeezed between appointments

Instructions and commitments from memory

Result

Left for the evening

What the client actually said can only be reconstructed afterwards.

How it works

Four steps that fit into a client meeting.

Nothing changes in the meeting except one click at the start. The only extra work is reading the draft through at the end.

Confidential advisory meeting at the meeting table with a recording device
The device sits on the table. Nothing else happens during the conversation.
  1. 01

Start the recording and tell the client

One click on your laptop or your phone. You tell the person across from you that you are recording the meeting for the file note — one sentence is enough, and they can decline at any time. The recording never starts on its own.

  2. 02

    Advise as usual

No dictation, no note-taking. Swiss German, standard German, French or English — including switching between them. Who said what is shown separately from the Pro plan.

  3. 03

    Your template fills in

Facts, legal assessment, instructions, next steps — in the structure your firm prescribes for this area of law. Not in a generic scheme.

  4. 04

    Review, correct, sign off

Every statement can be looked up in the transcript. Only your sign-off turns the draft into a file note — as PDF or Word, or filed directly to SharePoint/OneDrive or Confluence.

Your everyday work

These are the conversations that land on your desk.

The meetings that turn into case files.

Lawyers & notaries

  • Initial consultation
  • Fact-finding interview
  • Client meeting
  • Internal case review
  • Contract negotiation
  • Settlement talks
  • Negotiation preparation
  • Notarial pre-meeting
  • Estate division meeting
  • Legal department meeting

Outcomes

More time on the matter. Less time on follow-up work.

Three things that actually change in day-to-day work at the firm.

Attention

You listen instead of taking notes.

Even a long fact-finding session you can conduct calmly and ask follow-up questions, without details escaping you.

Time

The file note does not wait until the weekend.

Instead of writing up every meeting again in the evening, you read a draft through and sign it off.

Traceability

Two years from now, what was instructed is still documented.

Instructions, disclosures and reservations are where they belong — and every entry points to the place in the transcript.

Trust in the client relationship

The four questions that come before the first meeting.

What you learn in a matter is subject to professional secrecy under Art. 321 StGB. So here are the answers before you have to ask — including what we do not do.

For firms with the strictest confidentiality requirements, the AI processing also runs on your own Swiss servers on the Enterprise plan — then nothing goes to an external LLM provider.

01

Professional secrecy & data path

Hosting and storage exclusively in Swiss data centres, aligned with the revised Swiss FADP and the GDPR. Your data does not train any models, and a data processing agreement is included. Whether that is enough for your matter is for you to judge — we do not claim that a tool is compliant with professional secrecy.

02

Client consent

You say so before you start: “I am recording our meeting for the file note — is that all right with you?” If the client declines, you document as before. The recording never starts on its own.

03

Your sign-off

Meeting Metrics produces a draft, not a finished file note, and does not take file management off your hands. Every statement is backed by the transcript — responsibility for what goes into the file stays with the lawyer.

04

Retention & access

How long audio recordings stay after processing is something you set as a team policy (depending on plan); you can delete them manually at any time. Access runs through roles, user groups and folders — for example to separate matters where there is a conflict of interest.

That assessment stays with you — we tell you what we do so that you can make it. Recordings, transcripts and file notes are hosted and stored exclusively in Switzerland, aligned with the revised Swiss FADP and the GDPR. Where the AI processing must not leave your firm either, it runs on the Enterprise plan on your own Swiss servers — then nothing goes to an external LLM provider.
You are. Meeting Metrics delivers a draft, not a signed-off file note, and does not produce a legal assessment you could rely on. To make reading through quick, every statement is linked to the place in the transcript: one click shows you what a sentence is based on, instead of listening to the whole recording again.
Yes. 57 languages including Swiss German are supported; a meeting may switch between dialect, standard German, French and English, and you choose the language of the file note yourself. For the names of opposing parties, file references, statutory articles and in-house abbreviations you store your own vocabulary so that the spelling is right. The best test is an existing recording from your own area of law.
No — and we would rather say so up front. There is no interface today to legal practice software or document management systems such as WinJur, Vertec, Abacus or Actaport. What there is: export as a PDF or Word file and direct filing to SharePoint/OneDrive and Confluence. Tell us what you keep the file in and we will talk about it concretely.
Sentences like “we will clarify that by the end of the month” become open items with an owner and a date, which you check and hand over to Jira, Teamwork or Microsoft To Do. One thing Meeting Metrics expressly is not: a deadline management system. Procedural and substantive deadlines still belong in your deadline management system — we do not monitor them.
Yes. You define your own templates for employment law, family law, commercial law or the notary's office — with exactly the sections your file requires. Alternatively, you upload an existing template and Meeting Metrics takes over its structure.
